There’s not much early music heard in Croatia, and we have the opportunity to share our passion for this wonderful music first hand. For our 10th music trip to Europe, Ars & Amici will present concerts and sing masses in Renaissance & Baroque churches. Our repertoire features music from England and Italy from ca 1560-1700 for voices and recorders. Our program will include a variety of sacred & secular, vocal & instrumental repertoire including Croatian Renaissance motets!
Using Zagreb & Osijek as our home bases, we visit Trakoscan, Varazdin & Djakovo to sing in castles and cathedrals, as well as crossing into the Baroque city of Pecs in Hungary for a day. There are free days in Zagreb & Osijek for exploring on your own. Our schedule is being finalized in January 2009.
Accommodations in 3-star hotels (doubles with private bath/singles available at a surcharge; breakfast included. Lunch & dinner will be on your own (with suggestions from Libor).
Rehearsals: 1 weekend/month November-March; solos & small ensemble solos may be available for singers.
Places available for friends to travel with us. We are a well-seasoned group of independent travelers sharing a common love of music & adventure.
